Our research focuses on the design, synthesis, and assembly of bio-based and bio-degradable polymers. We design and synthesise the polymeric materials in whole or part from renewable carbon sources to improve the sustainability. The advanced functions (e.g., self-healing, hard-soft conversion, shape memory) are imparted to these materials by controlling the synthetic and assembling processes. By understanding and elucidating the structure-property relationships, bio-based polymers with higher performances can be developed. We also try to regulate the dynamic crystallisation and phase separation processes of polymer blends to create nano- and micro-patterns. Our efforts capitalise on the facile and versatile nature of preparation process of polymer blends for developing the next-generation patterning methodology.
